Here are some tips to remember which glass is used for which cocktail!
- Cocktail glass: is used for all stirred cocktails ex: Martini, Manhattan, Rob Roy
- Sour glass: is used for all sours (obviously) and flips
- Champagne glass: is used for Alexanders and Gimlets
- Cordial glass: is used for Trou Normand*, fine liqueurs and spririts
- Sherry glass: is used for fortified wines, mistelles and sambuca flambé
- Old fashioned glass1: is used for fine liqueurs, spirits (nature or on the rocks) and aperitifs (wine based)
- Hi-ball glass1: is used for standard drinks (any single alcohol or fine liqueur with simple mixer) ex: Rum and coke, Vodka-Orange juice
- Collins1: is used for Fizz, Egg nog and all “Bloody” (Ceasar, Mary…)
- Zombie1: is used for all complex drinks (i.e at least 2 alcohols and 2 non-alcoholic ingredients) ex: Sex-on-the-beach, Long Island Iced Tea, Zombie
- Shot glass: is used for shots and shooters
- Snifter: is used for fine liqueurs, spirits and eau-de vie nature or on the rocks ( usually for expensive alcohols)
- Tulip: is used for champagne, sparkling wine, and champagne or sparkling wine based cocktails ex: Mimosa, Kir
- Viva Grande: is used for tropical, exotic and blended cocktails
- Decanter: is used for mixers ex: 7-up, water
